Lillian B. Wallpe's Obituary
Lillian B. Wallpe, age 85 of Batesville, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at her residence. Born March 23, 1923 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Matilda (Nee: Benz) and Joseph Wintz Jr. She married Raymond Wallpe June 14, 1947 at St. Louis Church.Lill was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Church. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting and cross stitching as well as bird watching and raising flowers. She could often be heard whistling, something her father taught her at age three. Prior to being married, she worked at Blank’s Drug Store and Romweber’s Furniture Company.She is survived by daughters Karla Caudill of Batesville, Cindy Frey of Indianapolis; sons Michael of New Palestine, Indiana, Dave, Dan, Dennis and Mark, all of Batesville; brother Robert Wintz of Batesville and 11 grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Mary Helen Peters and Margaret Moorman.Visitation is Saturday, April 5th, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at noon at St. Louis Church with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Batesville E.M.S. 10 or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
