Linda F. Lanning's Obituary
Linda F. Lanning, age 61 of Batesville, died Friday, February 6, 2009, at her home. Born September 30, 1947 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Fern (Nee: Fohl) and Clarence Hoffman. She married Jerry Lanning November 9, 1978 in Hamilton, Ohio.Linda was an administrative assistant at G.E. Aircraft Engines in Cincinnati for 28 years. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and a charter member of the Southeastern Indiana YMCA at Batesville. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and having them gather together. An excellent cook, her family fondly remembers her fried chicken dinners she would make when the kids came home. Linda also enjoyed the solitude of being outdoors with nature. She loved to sit out on the deck with a good book or watching the deer that would come up near the house, as well as bird watching, with the hummingbirds among her favorites. Working in the yard on a new landscaping project was always fun for her too. Her family also playfully teased about her enjoyment of games shows and her passion for the T.V. show “Friends”, which she watched religiously and had all ten seasons on DVD.Linda is survived by her husband Jerry; sons Stephen Milbourne of Brownsburg, Indiana, Todd Milbourne of Orlando, Florida, David Milbourne of Salem, Indiana, Tony Milbourne of Orlando, Florida; daughters Kristen Fletcher of Batesville, Jenny Lanning of Alexandria, Virginia; step daughter Brittnay Strickland of Batesville and six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. There will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 11th, at Holy Family Church, with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Southeastern Indiana YMCA Strong Kids Scholarship Fund in memory of Linda.
