Lorraine Dierckman's Obituary
Lorraine Dierckman, age 80 of Batesville, Indiana, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 at St. Andrew’s Health Campus. Born May 10, 1927 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Margaruite (Nee: Amrhein) and Herman Flaspohler. She married Bernard Dierckman on April 28, 1948 at St. Mary’s of the Rock Church and he preceded her in death on February 12, 2003.Lorraine was a homemaker and a member of St. Louis Church and the St. Louis Ladies Society. Through the years, she helped at St. Louis School in several different capacities from serving on the PTA to helping in the school cafeteria. She also enjoyed gardening with her husband and for years had a garden on the site of what is now the new location for Weigel Funeral Home.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-laws Mary Ann & Edward Dierckman of Auke Bay, Alaska, Theresa & Richard Neumann of Evansville, Indiana, Margaret & Jerold Schwier of Noblesville, Indiana, Clara Jane & Gregory Downer of Spring Lake, Michigan, Florence & Joseph Giesey of Batesville; son and daughter-in-laws Nicholas & Mona Dierckman of Oregon City, Oregon, Alvin & Sandra Dierckman of Monroe, Wisconsin, Leo & Jennifer Dierckman of Carmel, Indiana; sisters Alberta Fecher of Sunman, Indiana, Mary Thornsberry of Batesville, Wilma Ripperger of Brookville, Indiana; brothers Kenneth Flaspohler of Brookville, William Flaspohler of St. Mary’s, Indiana; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers John and Cecil Flaspohler and one granddaughter.Visitation is Sunday, May 13th, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, May 14th, at St. Louis Church, with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ben and Lorraine Dierckman Family Endowment for St. Louis School, 17 St. Louis Place, Batesville, Indiana 47006.
