Luzia I. Starost's Obituary
Luzia I. Starost, age 83 of Hamburg, Indiana, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Born December 25, 1922 in Klein Strenz, Germany, she is the daughter of Agnes (Nee: Vogel) and Paul Nickel. She married Gerhard H. Starost December 26, 1942 in Germany. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2001.Luzia worked in the upholstering and sewing department of Hill-Rom Manufacturing for 20 years before retiring. She also was a member of St. Anne's Church in Hamburg.She is survived by daughters Veronica Starost of Hamburg, Lucy Mayer of Hamburg, Rose Kinker of Enochsburg, Indiana; sons Bernhard "Ben" of Oldenburg, Indiana, Eberhard "Abe" of Muncie, Indiana, Reinhard "Reiny" of Batesville, John "Hans" of Hamburg, Gerhard "Mick" of Oldenburg; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Luzia is also preceded in death by a grandson.Visitation is Tuesday, March 28th, from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Funeral Services follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anne's Church with Rev. Gregory Bramlage officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anne's Cemetery Fund.
