I attended University of Evansville with Mac. I was looking up old friends when I found this, and was very saddened to hear of Mac's passing. He was one of the kindest, funniest and most outgoing people I have ever known. In college, Mac could walk into a quiet room, and everyone would immediately begin smiling.
Sue and I knew Mac as a good neighbor and good friend and we miss him. He was slways positive and being active was an understatement. He and Putnam was always on the go and together. mac was a great guy and good friend and I miss him. Peter and Sue O'Hara
I'm so sorry to hear about Mac's passing. While I never got the pleasure of leading a trip with him, we spent many hours paling around the staff house together at WI. He was open-hearted, kind, and funny. He'll be missed by many and remembered very fondly.

We at Wilderness Inquiry are so very sorry to learn of Mac's passing. He was a wonderful man with a heart as big as the great outdoors. I personally had the joy of having him lead a trip for my family on Maine's Moose River. Simply put, Mac was the best. Werner Family - Mac has touched so many hearts and will be dearly missed, especially at the BHS Class of '79 Reunions. He was always so happy.Mac introduced us to each other when we were all Freshmen in high school. We will be married 31 years.
I was saddened to hear of Mac's passing and share many memories as a child competing on the Batesville Swim Team with him. Mac was a lot fun to be around and all around great guy. My Condolences to the family.
Dear Marcia and family, As you know, I was one of Mac’s professors at the UK College of Social Work -- I learned so much from Mac about living and giving and the true meaning of social work. He was one of the most beautiful human beings I have known and he will continue to be an inspiration to me in appreciating the wonder of the world and the people who live in it. I was saddened to hear of Mac's passing. I remember Mac as a great athlete & funny, intelligent, individual. He was also one the kindest people I've ever known. My sympathy to Mac's loved ones.
Mac was a wonderful man. We worked together on the FACT program evaluation and then he worked for me as an evaluation specialist with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. He HATED working in small cubbies with no view of the outdoors and left to work at UK when he pursued his doctorate. We loved Mac.
