What a wonderful lady to have known in my early years at BCC
I loved Marie! She was my favorite! She always had a kind word for me.
51 yrs at HI. Wow! And she truly was the voice of Batesville Casket for five decades! Marie was alwyas there and always delightful. And she knew all the reps by voice alone. She knew everyone in the company. And back in the 70's and 80's, before we had voice mail and cell phones, Marie could track you down easily out in your territory. She would call Jane at home to find out where I was headed and then call the funeral homes to find me. It was a pleasure to know her, also to see her occassionally when I was in the office--and if I was spending the night in Batesville I'd always see her in the evening at the drug store back when it was next to the DQ! Marie was one in a million! An important part of a great company.
I'm sorry to hear about Marie's death. I have many good memories of her at BCC. My sympathies to her family.
My sympathies to Marie's family. She will be missed. She was the voice of Hillenbrand and Batesville, I remember hearing her page someone in the early 1970s over the PA in the old Hillenbrand office. Over the last 36 years receiving calls from Marie or calling her to help locate other associates. She truly could track any associate down, regardless of where they were. I would run into her as CVS or Kroger, we would talk about times past. I enjoyed our many conversations and will surely miss them. She was one of the Good Ones!
Deepest sympathies to the Wessling family-lots of great memories- Marie was such an important part of the HI family--Rest in Peace-
Neal & family, very sorry for your loss. I remember Maire from my time at BCC - a very kind lady, and she Was always able to find anyone! Peace ...
Marie was a wonderful friend over the years when I started at Hillenbrands in 1966. I delivered mail and she worked switchboard and would always help me if I need to find someone's office when I first started. She was always friendly and cared about doing a good job and willing to help others. She was a very good friend of my sister, Becky and we would go see her when she was in the hospital and nursing home. She really did care about doing what was expected of her to get better and trusted in God to help her get through her life's journey. She will be missed by all who knew her. Prayers to all her family and friends. Enjoy God's paradise! Pam Gerdowsky
Joe/Neal, I was very saddened to hear of Marie's passing. She was a very special person, and one who made me feel special too. She called me "Mr. Scot", which I got a kick out of, and she always asked me how me and my family were doing. I have very fond memories of Ms. Marie and will always remember her. Thinking of you and your families...
Joe and all of Marie's family All of you have my deepest sympathy on the passing of Marie. I always enjoyed working with her during my years at Hill-Rom -- she was always so helpful to everyone. Thoughts and prayers for all of you.
