Marilyn J. "Joyce" Geis' Obituary
Marilyn J. “Joyce” Geis, age 80 of Greensburg, died Monday, May 23, 2011 at Hospice of Columbus. Born June 29, 1930 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Meriem (Nee: Hall) and Raymond Meyrose. She married Raymond Geis September 20, 1996 in Floyds Knob, Indiana. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Greensburg and worked 10 years for the Decatur County Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Indiana Department of Revenue as a tax investigator. She is survived by her husband Ray; daughter Tamara Caufield of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sons Mark Carder of Greensburg, Brian Carder of Greensburg, Craig Carder of Orlando, Florida, Todd Owens of Greensburg, Tom Owens of Huntersville, North Carolina; sisters Sonia Cramer of Greenville, South Carolina, Gaynell Bottorff of Gainesville, Georgia; brother Michael Meyrose of Indianapolis; fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents. A private service will be held at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville followed by graveside services at Rossburg Cemetery in New Point. The family is requesting memorials to the Decatur County Animal Shelter.
