Marjorie Florence Niese's Obituary
Marjorie Florence (nee Hartman) Niese, age 81, of Batesville, Indiana, passed at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Born at home on September 26, 1944, in Morris, Indiana, she is the daughter of Andrew V. and Rosella (nee Harmeyer) Hartman. Marjorie married Jerold Herbert Niese on December 28, 1963, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Morris, Indiana.
Marjorie was a Daughter of Isabella and a member of the St. Anthony Legacy Society. She was a woman of faith and loved her family. She was a fan of gardening, reading, sewing and scrabble. She enjoyed expressing her artistic side in her paintings. She had a full and vibrant life until the very end spending time with her family.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Jerold H. Niese of Batesville, sons Andy (Ruth Stoll) Niese of Flora, IN, and Jeff Niese of Greensburg; daughter Annette (Brent) Stinger of Brookville; brother Jerry (Vicki) Hartman of Scottsburg, IN, sisters Wilma Allen of Grand Junction, CO, Judy Mang of Batesville, and Linda (Roger) Borgman of Florence, SC; sister-in-law Mary Hartman of Batesville; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Steve Hartman, infant sister Laverne Hartman, and brother-in-law(s) Leroy Mang and Robert “Bob” Allen.
Calling hours will be Monday, June 15th, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., at St. Anthony of Padua in Morris, Indiana. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Jack Wright officiating. The burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or Memorial Masses.
