Martha M. Doll's Obituary
Martha M. Doll, age 89 of Noblesville, Indiana and formerly of Batesville, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Riverwalk Village in Noblesville. Born September 17, 1918 in Lawrenceville, Indiana, she is the daughter of Eva (Nee: Boehmer) and Jacob Schantz. She married Francis “Spot” Doll July 20, 1946 at St. Louis Church and preceded her in death on April 26, 1979.Martha worked at Margaret Mary Hospital for 29 years as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of St. Louis Church, the Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary and the Batesville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary before moving to Noblesville a few years ago due to health reasons. She loved to grow flowers and raised a large vegetable garden, canning much of her harvest each year. She also loved both cats and dogs, and one of her greatest pleasures late in life was to watch the birds that came to her feeders.She is survived by sons Jacob of Noblesville, Daniel of Brookville, Indiana, Cletus of Orange Park, Florida, Lloyd of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers Jacob, John and Albert Schantz and great grandson Connor Doll.Visitation is Monday, November 12th, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stephen Akange officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Batesville Fire Department or Harbor Light Hospice.
