Mary Lou Brandes' Obituary
Mary Lou Brandes, age 50 of Batesville, died Monday, October 1, 2012 at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born May 5, 1962 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Iris (Nee: Vail) and Charles Corson. She married Tim Brandes December 22, 2007 in Hickory, North Carolina.Mary Lou liked having her family and friends around and was always willing to help and do for others. She also loved dearly her three “kids”……..dogs Charlie, Lucy and Zoe. An artistic individual, she raised flower and herb gardens and enjoyed making flower arrangements with them. Other interests were antiquing, camping and traveling. A trip to San Francisco last year and their yearly visit to Hilton Head, South Carolina in the early fall were among her favorites. Mary Lou was particular about her dress, which was always chic and fashionable. It was a style she was comfortable in, having modeled in New York and Philadelphia for several years.Mary Lou is survived by her husband Tim; sister Jackie Schaefer and mother and father-in-law Bobbie and Rodney Brandes, all of Batesville. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation is Thursday, October 4th, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A prayer service will be conducted at 6 P.M. Thursday by the Batesville Order of Eastern Star #348. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Friday, October 5th at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles Flory officiating followed by burial at Batesville United Methodist Cemetery. The family requests memorials to The Order of the Eastern Star Batesville Chapter #348 or Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital.
