Mary A. Frensemeier's Obituary
Mary A. Frensemeier, age 94 of Batesville, died Monday, August 10, 2009, at the Waters of Batesville. Born December 18, 1914 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Maria (Nee: Schwennen) and Henry Fieler. She married Lloyd Frensemeier October 8, 1938 in Batesville and he preceded her in death October 2, 1977. She was a member of St. Louis Church and the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Aerie #1130. She worked as a sales clerk at Telles’ Ready-To-Wear clothing store and a waitress for The Ship before retiring.Mary cared for her home bound son Richard until his death at the age of 21. After his death, Mary’s husband encouraged her to get out and introduced her to bowling which became a passion that lasted for decades. Each year they raised a large garden “and mom canned everything dad planted. It was easy with four built in helpers.” Her children also recall what a wonderful cook she was and fondly remember her coffee cakes, bread and homemade grits. She enjoyed crocheting and “Find-a-Word” puzzles in her spare time. Mary also looked forward to Sunday afternoons when the family would load up the car for a leisurely ride in the country. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Kaysie and Ralph Jolliff of Hartsville, Indiana; sons and daughter-in-laws David and Carol Frensemeier of Greensburg, Indiana, Tim and Dottie Frensemeier of Sunman, Indiana, Mike and Cheryl Frensemeier of Batesville; sister Agnes Smith of Batesville; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, son and parents, she is also preceded in death by sister Cecilia Fieler; brothers Harry and Lawrence Fieler and great grandson Christopher Johnson. Visitation is Friday, August 14th, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Dennis Duvelius officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital.
