Mary Jane Wagner's Obituary
Mary J. Wagner, age 86 of Batesville, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born September 25, 1926 in Franklin County Indiana, she is the daughter of Ida (Nee: Schebler) and Frank Boing. She married William “Russell” Wagner and he preceded her in death August 16, 2006. Mary was a homemaker, as well as a member of St. Louis Church and the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary. Mary’s joy in life was her grandchildren. She absolutely loved having them around and doted on them. And while she loved the grandchildren dearly, she also enjoyed several other hobbies. To say she liked bingo would be an understatement as she was a regular on Thursday nights at St. Louis. Although her family wouldn’t consider her a gardener, she did like to dabble with flowers a little bit and had some beautiful Iris’ in her back yard. Every once in awhile she liked to go fishing and after Russell retired, they enjoyed going out to eat on the weekends. Mary was also a big fan of the Andy Griffith Show, the Cincinnati Reds and liked working crossword puzzles. A good cook, her homemade vegetable soup and her dressing were among her family’s favorites.Mary is survived by her sons Tim of Batesville, Alan of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Steve; sister Margaret Artmeier and brothers Jim and John Boing. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27th, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Louis Church with Rev. Randy Summers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Batesville E.M.S. 10 or the American Heart Association.
