Monroe Caudill's Obituary
Monroe Caudill, age 57 of Batesville, died Friday, January 21, 2011 at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born January 25, 1953 in Jeremiah, Kentucky, he is the son of Cellie (Nee: Fields) and Harold Caudill. He worked as a machine operator in the stamping department of Batesville Casket Company for 40 years. Monroe was a hard working individual and dedicated employee, working for Batesville Casket out of high school and continued with them up until the time of his death. His true passion was camping with his family and his favorite camp site was Spring Mills near Bedford Indiana. He also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, rough housing with his nieces and nephews and time spent with his parents.He is survived by his wife Mayme; parents Harold and Cellie Caudill of Batesville; daughters Nickie Bates of Osgood, Priscilla Popp of Batesville, LeeAnn Bates of Osgood; son Gary Caudill of Versailles; sisters Luettie Harrison of Batesville, Tilda Fruchtnicht of Napoleon, Melissa Broughton of Batesville; brothers Dexter Caudill of Milan, Wilson Caudill of Batesville, Carlos Caudill of Milan, David Caudill of Greensburg and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Ranie Molnar and brother Timothy Caudill. Visitation is Wednesday, January 26th, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, January 27th at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Yeaton officiating and burial will be in Shelby Cemetery near Versailles. The family requests memorials be made to a trust fund for his grandchildren.
