So sorry I could not make it to Nick's services. I saw him in church a few months ago. He didn't recognize me and was surprised when I told him who I was. He said, "this is my niece" many times. It was so good to see him. Then a month or so ago, mom told me and I was hoping I could come visit him. I had a card on my desk ready to mail but it never got to him. I work at Riley in the diabetes department and our diabetes camp for kids was all last week up in Northern Indiana. I just have so many memories of Uncle Nick when we would have sleep overs, he would make us laugh and he would drive to fast down St. Mary's Road and let us drive which we just thought was the best.
He was a special man and will be missed. I didn't have any of your addresses to send a card and this was the only way I knew how to just tell you I am sorry and I will hold on to those memories.
I hope you all are doing well and hate that we have all lost touch.
I am now Jill Weisenbach. I married Scott Weisenbach from Batesville. I am on faceboook and my contact info is below.
Please take care.

Dear Family of Nick Stewart-
I have so many memories of your Father, Grand-father, and mentor as I first
met Nick with his wife , Mary, when first moving to Batesville 30 years ago. I knew him as a wit, joke teller, and Santa for the Square. He was a catechists for me when I was DRE for St. Louis Church for a year or so. Always a smile on his face, and I don't believe I ever heard a harsh word from him. Sweet man in my book. Found out on Friday that he had passed...and had to verify with friends in Batesville when I saw a reference to his Obit on FB. My prayers and best wishes to you all...he is a very hard act to follow!

Nick will Always be remembered and missed by me.
Graphic Artist.

Nick was always bigger than life. He never met a stranger and always remembered them year over year. My favorite memory of Nick was attending the Ruehl Family Reunions, rolling in with whatever the latest car was. He would roam the crowd, greeting, meeting and taking pictures. We would spend the day sitting under the trees, trading stories and tall tales. A day or two after the event Nick would have a CD with all the pictures he had taken…I still have those CDs as a memory of each event. He will be missed...
Nick and Mary will always have a special place in my heart as will you three girls. I share a lot of great talks with him and so have my kids. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers for all you. Janice Cleary Laugle
We always enjoyed Nick's sense of humor and welcoming smile when we attended the family reunions. We was a jokester, loved entertaining and making people laugh. He usually drove a sleek, fast car to the reunion which the boys would immediately flock to! They would take turns taking a spin with ol' Nick up and down the country road!
We love his saying that he's just gone before you, what a wonderful way to experience our departure from this world. Our heartfelt sympathies to his family. We are so sorry for the loss of your Dad. May you find peace and comfort knowing he lives on through you.
Love,

I will so miss my Uncle Nick. I last saw him when my mom Nomi was very ill. I know you missed Nomi so much and I know you are catching up with her and dad. I so wished that I could have come to Batesville to see him and visit with cousins I haven't seen in a long time. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the family. Well done good and faithful servant. Love you and will miss you Uncle Nick.
