Rachel Newport-Maupin's Obituary
Rachel Newport-Maupin, age 90 of Batesville and formerly of Falmouth, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio, died Thursday, June 1st, at The Waters of Batesville. Born in Oneida, Tennessee, she is the daughter of Bertie (Nee: Hembree) and Hobert Newport. She married General Maupin May 27, 1971 at the Free Will Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Kentucky and he preceded her in death February 4, 2006.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters Wilma Jeffers, Ruth Sexton, Louise Chambers and brothers Ancel, Elzo and Odell Newport. She is survived by her grandson Chris Grote of Batesville.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 12th, from 9 – 10 a.m. at the Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, Florida. Funeral services follow at 10 a.m. and burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery.
