Ralph A. Faust's Obituary
Ralph A. Faust, age 88 of Morris, Indiana, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at The Waters of Batesville. Born March 15, 1924 in Batesville, Indiana, he is the son of Nellie (Nee: Springman) and John Faust. He married Alice Lohman on February 7, 1948 at St. Anthony Church in Morris. Ralph was an Army veteran during WWII and was a member of the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Ralph was the owner of the Faust Flooring Company, which he installed linoleum and carpeting for 35 years, before retiring in 1995. His family stated that he was very particular with his work and took great pride knowing that every detail was done right. He was a “hard worker” having done many installations in homes around the area and several churches including St. Anthony’s in Morris and St. Paul’s in New Alsace. At some point through the years, Ralph’s sons worked with their dad in the business and son Tom actually worked with him up until his retirement. Ralph over the years was known by many close friends as “Rip”. He loved to go fishing and spending time in the garden. He loved to watch the birds and squirrels and spent a lot of time with his dog Cuddles. According to his family, he loved Alice’s meatloaf and mashed potatoes. He is survived by his wife Alice; daughters and son-in-laws Karol and Dennis Ingersoll, Pat and Kevin Stenger, all of Sunman, Indiana; sons and daughter-in-laws Greg and Charlene Faust of Batesville, Tom and Annette Faust of Greensburg, Indiana, Bob and Karen Faust of Brookville, Indiana, Rick Faust of Batesville; sisters Eunice (Francis) Riehle of Sunman, Virginia (Virgil) Werner of Batesville; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Norbert Faust and granddaughter Emily Ann Faust.Visitation is Wednesday, January 16th, from 9 – 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 8:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anthony Church in Morris, with Rev. Pascal Nduka officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and by the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. Memorials may be made to the St. Anthony Cemetery Fund or the Morris Fire Department.
