Raymond H. Grunkemeyer's Obituary
Raymond H. Grunkemeyer, age 90 of Batesville, Indiana, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at The Waters of Batesville. Born December 13, 1916 in Franklin County Indiana, he is the son of Elizabeth (Nee: Gerich) and Joseph Grunkemeyer.Ray farmed and also was a Bus Driver with the Batesville and Brookville Community School Corporations for 29 years, before retiring. He was a life long member of the St. Mary’s of the Rock Church and the Red Man’s Club.He is survived by his daughters Alma Simmermeyer of St. Mary’s, Indiana, Helen Reverman of Grand Ledge, Michigan and Jane Vierling of Batesville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Arnold “Little Joe” Grunkemeyer; sisters Clara Grunkemeyer, Alma Grunkemeyer and Leona Cartuyvelles; brothers Leonard and Clarence Grunkemeyer.Visitation is Sunday, March 18th, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home, with a rosary service at 4 p.m. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, March 19th, at St. Mary’s of the Rock Church, with Rev. Humbert Moster, OFM officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital.
