Fr. Bob was our Pastor here at Sacred Heart Church, in Calumet, Michigan for 6 years. He arrived right around the time that our 'new' church was completed (our previous church had burned to the ground). Fr. Bob was always a friendly/amiable person - but one who liked to challenge our 'habits/routines'. A memory of this was during one Lenten season, when the Holy Water was removed from the fonts. In the empty fonts Fr. Bob placed 'orange' ping pong balls. He did it. as one reason, just to see how long it would take for someone to be brave enough to ask, "why are there orange ping pong balls in the Holy Water fonts?" Farewell Fr. Bob. Ken Olkkonen

Bob, you were a great friend in the Franciscan seminary and I certainly enjoyed cutting wood with you and our conversations.Remember the Yule logs. Our paths only crossed a few times in later life but we sure enjoyed a lot of laughs and memories. I will miss you dear friend. Bob, as I first knew him from AA was around when I first came into the program in 1997. He was a regular nooner and that group helped me so much! I'd see him from time to time as he'd moved and visited and was always great to see him! Always a smiling face and regular story teller and voice that could soothe the most difficult of souls.
Thank you so much for your life of service to others, you ve saved lives, sir ❤️
