Richard A. Gardner Sr.'s Obituary
Richard A. Gardner Sr., age 72 of Oldenburg, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at his residence. Born December 22, 1940 in Milan, Indiana, he is the son of Elnora (Nee: Williamson) and Arthur Gardner. Richard owned his own construction company for 40 years and also worked at Batesville Tool & Die 11 years before retiring in 2010. A member of Batesville Eagles #1130, he enjoyed working puzzles, watching NASCAR and collected coins.He is survived by his daughters Becky Reatherford of Napoleon, Indiana, Mary Ann Lostutter of Dillsboro, Indiana; sons Richard Jr. of Aurora, Indiana, Ted of Batesville; sisters Helen Ellinghausen, Mary Kathryn Washburn, both of Batesville, Sue Teasley of Greensburg, Indiana; brother Tony of Griffin, Georgia and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.Visitation is Wednesday, July 31st, from 9 – 11 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. Funeral services follow at 11a.m. with burial at Cravens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for medical expenses.
