Rita Jo Brebberman's Obituary
Rita Jo (nee Nobbe) Brebberman, age 69, of Batesville, Indiana, passed away at Arbor Grove in Greensburg, Indiana, on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She was born on March 13, 1957, at Margaret Mary Hospital. She is the daughter of Anthony F. and Ida (nee Lecher) Nobbe. She married Timothy R. Brebberman on October 8, 1988, at St. Louis Catholic Church where she is a member.
Rita was a loving mother and wife who always put her family first. Once the kids were born, she stayed home to nurture the children and care for the homestead by cooking, cleaning, and planning the annual family vacation. She could also be a bit stubborn at times and had a famous phrase the kids grew to know well: “There’s the right way, the wrong way, and then there’s Rita’s way.” Rita supported Michael and Ryan’s athletics growing up and could be found cheering on IU and Purdue college basketball teams. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and watching game shows in her downtime.
Rita is survived by her husband Tim Brebberman of Batesville; sons Michael (Sarah) Brebberman of Greensburg and Ryan Brebberman of Shelbyville; sister Annita (Steve) Schoettmer of Greensburg; brother Norbert (Mary Jo) Nobbe of Batesville; grandkids Cooper Brebberman and a granddaughter on the way; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Dorothy Jean Nobbe.
Visitation will be Friday, August 7th, from 4 – 7 p.m., at Weigel Funeral Home, with an open to the public Rosary at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 8th, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville, with Fr. Stan Pondo officiating. The burial will immediately follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
