Robert L. Dietz's Obituary
Robert L. Dietz, age 69 of San Diego, California and formerly of Batesville, died December 19, 2012 at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Born May 19, 1943 in Batesville, he is the son of Helen (Nee: Doll) and Louis Dietz. Bob served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and for the last 28 years was owner of Adventure Imaging, a photo evidence service that produces exhibits for trials. He was a member of the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association.He was a graduate of Batesville High School and Indiana University with a B.S. in business. Bob’s hobby was his work. Before starting Adventure Imaging, he worked in the hotel industry for many years in a capacity that had the built in perk of traveling the world and getting to visit places many of us only dream about. After leaving the hotel and entertainment industry, he opened up his photo evidence company in 1985 which he owned until his death. Because he liked to relax at the end of the day, he took great pride in furnishing his home inside and out to be inviting and comfortable. It was not a house, but truly a home. While he might fiddle a little with some gardening, an enjoyable evening was a good book and a scotch and water on the patio.Bob is survived by his sister Jane Fullenkamp of Oldenburg, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 9 – 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12th, at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Kobak O.F.M. officiating and his ashes interred in St. Louis Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. The family requests memorials to Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research.
