Robert Henry Knierim's Obituary
Robert H. Knierim, age 85 of Hamburg, Indiana, died Monday, December 11, 2006, at the Hospitality Hall in Batesville, Indiana.Born November 14, 1921 in Newport, Kentucky, he is the son of Elizabeth (Nee: Abeling) and Henry Knierim. He married Eleanor Rosel on June 27, 1949 at the Corpus Christi Church in Newport, Kentucky and she preceded him in death on April 22, 1994.Robert was a Mechanical Draftsman for CG&E, before retiring in 1984. He was an Army veteran during World War II and was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Robert is survived by his daughter Sandy Meyer of Hamburg, Indiana; sons Ken Knierim of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mike Knierim of West Harrison, Indiana, Stan Knierim of Indianapolis, Indiana, Larry Knierim of Brookville, Indiana; sister Harriet Baldwin of Kentucky; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor as well as his parents.Visitation is Friday, December 15th, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Friday, December 15th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Hamburg, Indiana, with Rev. George Nangachidveettil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery, with military graveside rites conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. The family request memorials to the St. Anne’s Cemetery Fund.
