Robert Theodore “Bob” Fussner, age 80 of Brookville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio from CLL (Leukemia). He was born April 12, 1946, to parents Edwin and Carolyn (Nee: Hoog) Fussner, of St. Peter’s Indiana. He grew up with his parents and two siblings on the same farm as his German ancestors, raising and hand-picking acres of tomatoes. He enjoyed his two horses, Queenie and Billie, and adventures climbing trees to see owl nests, summers with his cousin Ferd, and eating traditional German dinners of fried potatoes, sauerkraut, sausage, and coffee cakes for dessert. He attended St. Peters grade school, Brookville high school, then furthered his studies at University of Cincinnati and finally transferred to Purdue University. He graduated in 1971 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Campbell-Hausfeld, Hill-Rom, American Lifts, Ambusher, and was currently employed at iMedical in Greendale, Indiana.
In addition to his professional career, Bob was passionate about farming, raising soybeans, corn, and livestock with his wife Jane and their five children. They enjoyed gardening as a family, and other activities on the farm as well. He and his brother, Richard, farmed hundreds of acres in the St. Peter’s and Brookville regions, and was often happiest while out in the fields.
