Ruth F. Hoff's Obituary
Ruth F. Hoff, age 84 of Batesville, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her home. Born December 6, 1927 in Batesville, she is the daughter of Frances (Nee: Fragge) and Anthony Weberding. She married Urban Hoff June 30, 1948 at St. Louis Church and he preceded her in death January 26, 1978. Ruth was a member of St. Louis Church and the Knights of St. John Ladies Auxiliary. She worked 27 for Hillenbrand Industries in the assembly department. Ruth loved working in her yard and until about a year ago was still doing her own mowing. Many will remember seeing her take Tillie the dog on her twice daily walks, volunteering at Margaret Mary Hospital and taking communion to the elderly and shut-ins. Among her favorite T.V. programs were Oprah, Dr. Phil and the Letterman Show, however, she absolutely would not watch Jay Leno. Her children fondly remember the long standing tradition of Sunday morning breakfast at mom’s house at 9 a.m. An excellent baker, she would have cookies and cinnamon rolls ready while son Dan was responsible for manning the stove and griddle. She is survived by her daughters Carol Jean Turner, Nancy Mauk, both of Batesville, Patty Krekeler of New Point, Indiana; sons Rick and Dan Hoff, both of Batesville; sister Mary Luhring of Batesville; brother Charles Weberding of Cheviot, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers Bill and Bob Weberding. Visitation is Tuesday, June 12th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funerals services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 13th, at St. Louis Church with Rev. Carl Hawver O.F.M. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital.
