Sr. Catherine Ann Hillman, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Catherine Ann Hillman O.S.F., age 91 of the Srs. of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg, IN, died Friday, May 18th, at the convent. Born June 26, 1915 in Richmond, IN, she is the daughter of Catherine (Nee: Otten) and Frank Hillman. Sr. Catherine entered the convent on September 8, 1938 and made her final vows on August 12, 1944.Sr. Catherine was a teacher and a nurse. From 1941-1960, she taught at several schools in Missouri, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana, including St. Francis de Sales in Indianapolis and St. Michael’s in Brookville. From 1960-1993, she was a nurse at the Sisters of St. Francis Convent Infirmary, before retiring in 1993.She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary and Clara Hillman, Frances Cutter, Sr. Anna Marie Hillman S.F.P. and brothers Joseph, Leo, Herman, Rev. Anthony Hillman and Rev. Richard Hillman. Visitation is Monday, May 21st, at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg, from 1-3 p.m. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m., with Rev. Stephen Akange officiating. Memorials may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, P.O. Box 100, Oldenburg, IN 47006.
