Sr. Marcella Elizabeth Coors O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Marcella Elizabeth Coors, age 89 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Tuesday, April 23, 2012 at the convent. Born July 2, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is the daughter of Elizabeth (Nee: Luken) and Henry Coors.She entered the convent September 15, 1943 and made her final vows August 12, 1949. Sr. Marcella was an elementary and high school teacher and worked in the office at the St. Anthony Messenger before retiring in 2002. Schools she taught at include Holy Cross in St. Louis, Missouri; Our Lady of Lourdes in Indianapolis, Indiana, St. Mary’s in Greensburg, Indiana, St. Gabriel’s in Connersville, Indiana; St. Aloysius, St. Clement’s, Our Lady of Angels High School and Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati and Bishop Flaget School in Chillicothe, Ohio. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Sedgebeer and brothers Harry, Clement (Gus), Richard and Albert Coors. Visitation is Friday, April 26th, from 1-3 p.m. at the motherhouse chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver O.F.M. officiating.
