Sr. Mary Frank O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Mary Frank, formerly Sr. Annette Frank, age 86 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the convent. Born February 23, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, she is the daughter of Eva (Nee: Artzer) and George Frank.She entered the convent September 5, 1943 and made her final vows August 12, 1949. A teacher and assistant principal at Cardinal Ritter High School in Indianapolis, she also taught Holy Trinity and St. Bernadette’s in Indianapolis as well as Carroll High School in Dayton, Ohio. In 1977 Sr. Mary moved to Cincinnati and became a core member of the Resurrection House of Prayer until 1984 when she accepted a position in Clinical Pastoral Education for Bethesda Hospital and later retreat Co-Director for the Pinecroft House of Peace. In 1995 she became secretary of the communications office for the Franciscan Fathers of St. John the Baptist Province until 2007 when she retired to the Motherhouse in Oldenburg.She is survived by sisters Pauline Kline of Uniontown, Ohio, Rose Kline of Rootstown, Ohio, Betty Robertson of Dunedin Florida; brother George Frank of Cincinnati and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sr. Mary is also preceded in death by sisters Mary and Elizabeth Frank and brothers Raymond, Robert and John Frank.Visitation is Wednesday, November 2, from 1-3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver officiating and burial in the convent cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
