Sr. Naomi Frey, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Naomi Frey O.S.F., formerly Sr. Thomas Ann Frey, age 77, died Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at the Srs. of St. Francis Convent. Born September 10, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is the daughter of Edna (Nee: Buchert) and Norbert Frey. She entered the convent on February 2, 1949 and professed her final vows August 12, 1954.Sr. Naomi was a teacher and principal at several schools in Indiana, Illinois and Montana. She spent 35 years in Papua New Guinea teaching, as well as, Pastoral Ministry, lecturing and consulting, before retiring to the Motherhouse in 1997.Survivors include her sisters Rita Owens of Cleves, Ohio, Patricia Scott of Dearborn, Michigan; brothers Donald Frey and Br. Thomas Frey, C.S.C., both of Austin, Texas and Paul Frey of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Cal Frey.Visitation is Thursday, August 30th, from 1–3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m., with Rev. Carl Hawver, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery in Oldenburg. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
