Sr. Mary Helen Rosenberger's Obituary
Sr. Mary Helen Rosenberger, age 94 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Friday, December 5, 2008, at the convent. Born June 26, 1914 in Brookville, Indiana, she is the daughter of Elizabeth (Nee: Ratz) and Frank Rosenberger.She entered the convent September 8, 1930 and made her final vows July 2, 1936. Sr. Mary Helen was an elementary teacher for 54 years. She taught at St. Anthony’s in Dayton, Ohio, St. Clements’s, St. Francis Seraph, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph’s, St. Clare’s and St. Catherine’s in Cincinnati, Ohio, St Peter’s in Chillicothe, Ohio, Little Flower in Indianapolis, Indiana, Holy Name in Beech Grove, Indiana, St. Nicholas in Sunman, Indiana, St. Vincent’s in Vincennes, Indiana, St. Mary’s in Greensburg, Indiana and Sacred Heart in Troy, Missouri. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1990.Sr. Mary Helen is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by sisters Mary Schrank, Sr. Callista Rosenberger O.S.F. and brothers Albert, Howard, Sylvester, Joseph and Frank Rosenberger. Visitation is Tuesday, December 9th, from 1-3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver O.F.M. officiating.
