Sr. Boniface Konrad, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Boniface Konrad, age 88 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Monday, December 17, 2007, at the convent. Born December 1, 1919 in Zemun, Yugoslavia, she is the daughter of Anna Marie (Nee: Manz) and Adam Konrad. She entered the convent on September 8, 1937 and made her final vows on August 12, 1943.Sr. Boniface taught German, U.S. History and World History for 52 years. In Indiana, she taught at St. Francis de Sales, Little Flower, Scecina High, St. Michael and Marian College, all in Indianapolis; St. Andrew in Richmond and Immaculate Conception Academy in Oldenburg. She also taught at St. Clements and Sacred Heart in Cincinnati and Carrol High in Dayton. In 1993, she returned to the Motherhouse to minister in community service before retiring in 2005.She is survived by her brother-in-law Joseph Seper of St. Louis, Missouri, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by sister Sophia Seper. Visitation is Thursday, December 20th, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Carl Hawver, O.F.M. officiating. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O. Box 100, Oldenburg, IN, 47036.
