Sr. Ramona Lunsford, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Ramona Lunsford, O.S.F., age 71, of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Monday, October 15, 2007, at the convent. Born September 8, 1936 at Oak Forest in Franklin County Indiana, she is the daughter of Ethel (Nee: Weinheimer) and Charles J. Lunsford.Sr. Ramona entered the convent September 8, 1954 and professed her final vows August 12, 1960. She was a teacher, principal and school supervisor, having taught at several schools in Indianapolis, Indiana, Cincinnati and Fairfield, Ohio. She served as a Member of the General Council for the Franciscan Congregation from 1982-1986 and ministered as Director of Development from 1988-2000. From 2001 to the present time, Sr. Ramona was Clerical Assistant and driver for St. Claire Hall, the Health Care facility for the Sisters.She is survived by her sisters Rita Gramman of Brookville, IN, Alice Springman of Beech Grove, IN, Charlene Bravard of Batesville, Emilie Market of Brookville, Elaine Amberger of Batesville; brothers Richard Lunsford of Guilford, IN, Arnold Lunsford of Greencastle, IN, Ralph Lunsford of Brookville, Steve Lunsford of Batesville, Willie Lunsford of Napoleon, IN; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joe Lunsford.Visitation is Wednesday, October 17th, from 3-6 p.m. at the Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m., with Bishop Gettelfinger officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Oldenburg. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
