Sr. Jean Marie Linesch's Obituary
Sr. Jean Marie Linesch, O.S.F., age 92, of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana died Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville. Born March 22, 1917 in St. Bernard, Ohio, she is the daughter of Elizabeth (Nee: Willeke) and John Linesch.She entered the convent on September 8, 1936 and made her final vows on August 12, 1942. Sr. Jean Marie was an elementary school teacher and principal from 1939 to 1982. She taught at St. Agnes in Evansville, Indiana, St. Mary’s, St. Gabriel’s and Holy Trinity in Indianapolis, Indiana; St. Anthony’s in Dayton, Ohio, St. Catherine’s, St. Bonaventure’s, St. Leo’s, St. James and St. Aloysius in Cincinnati, Ohio; Immaculate Conception in Old Monroe, Missouri and St. Henry’s in St. Louis, Missouri. She returned to the Motherhouse in 1982 serving as the Assistant to the Communication Director and in later years served as the Communication Office Manager, until retiring in 1996.Sr. Jean Marie is survived by nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters Marie Buse, Stella Linesch; brothers Joseph, William, Edward, Rev. Placid OFM, Rev. Bernadine OFM, George and Charles Linesch.Visitation is Wednesday, January 20th, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver OFM officiating. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
