Sr. Antoinette Marie Manus, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Antoinette Marie Manus, a member of the Srs. of St. Francis Convent in Oldenburg, died at the convent on Monday, March 6, 2006, at the age of 100. Born July 22, 1905 in New Albany, Indiana, she is the daughter of Antoinette (Nee: Broecker) and Frank Manus.Sr. Antoinette entered the convent on August 15, 1921 and made her final vows on July 26, 1927. She was an Elementary School Teacher, teaching at several schools in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Missouri, before retiring to the Motherhouse in 1985 after 53 years.She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Eva Fischer and brothers Elmer, Herman and Walter Manus.Visitation is Thursday, March 9th, from 1-3 p.m. at the Srs. of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg, Indiana. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Carl Hawver, O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
