There are a lot of people out there who remember Sr. Jean, among them are members of my family and me! She and friend Pat Lyons welcomed me when I arrived as the new pastor of St. John's in Middletown in 1986. She was totally dedicated to St. John's as organist, choir director, communion minister, clerk, bingo meister and assistant pastor! Everyone in town knew her --she was a daughter of the parish-- but she was closest to the devoted members of St. John's choir, who teased her incessantly. Sr Jean was absolutely one of the five most influential people in my life of 72 years. She taught me piano and clarinet starting in early grade school. I was the St Clement band leader when we performed for the Cincinnati Reds, Bob Hope and JFK. Sr directed some of us in a vocal group. She taught me pump organ that we played in some of the disadvantaged parishes. She was a confidente, a cheerleader, an inspiration, a shining example, a joker, an energizer. Other than my parents, I spent more time with Sr Jean than with anyone else during those elementary years. What an impact she had!
I only wish I had visited her in her later years to let her know how important she was to me and how much I loved her. I’ll let her know in my prayers!

I first met Sister Jean some years ago when I was working at TV Middletown. She could brighten up a day when everything else was going wrong. But I hope the Good Lord has a special traffic cop up there - her driving was, shall we say, a bit different. She was one special lady - and we need more like her.

Sr. Jean was my choir director and my bell choir director at St. John’s Church for many years. I have so many memories that involved Sr. Jean in my childhood. She allowed me to become a choir member at a young age, and being a tall girl I still paid very close attention to the “tiny nun”. During a choir trip once in Toronto Canada Sr. Jean bought me and sister a Cabbage Patch Doll. That was during the 1980’s when they were a rare breed to find. Somehow though that “tiny nun” had gotten so many to sell during Bingo that my parent’s basement turned into a Cabbage Patch Adoption Center. Sr.Jean was a riot and a pistol to be around. Always smiling and had an awesome sense of humor. I am forever grateful for her being such a kind and generous person to me. God definitely broke the mold after making Sr. Jean, and now I know heaven’s choir will be more fun because of her arrival.

Sister Jean,was a very beautiful lady,I was in her choir for 20 years,and I worked Bingo almost 20 years she was so much fun to be around,she stood by me in some hard sorrowful times,I loved her so much,she was a blessing to everyone,that knew her,may he family find peace and strength.RIP Sister Jean,

Sister Jean was a wonderful lady,I sang in her choir for 20 years,and worked Bingo for 15 years,she stood by me during some hard moments,she was always there for any one who needed her and a very kind and loving person,she will be missed.RIP Sister Jean,theyre aren't enough words to describe her living nature.
