Sr. Margaret Mary Hollingsworth O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Margaret Mary Hollingsworth O.S.F., formerly Sr. Mary Ambrose, age, 85 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the convent. Born January 19, 1925 in Morganfield, Kentucky, she is the daughter of Myrtle (Nee: Mills) and Earl Hollingsworth.She entered the convent January 28, 1944 and made her final vows August 12, 1949. Sr. Margaret Mary spent 28 years as a teacher in Indiana at St. Andrew’s and Holy Family in Richmond; St. Mark’s, Lourdes, St. Mary’s and Holy Trinity in Indianapolis; St. Vincent’s in Bedford; St. Joseph’s and Rex Mundi in Evansville as well as Sacred Heart in Cincinnati, Ohio and St. Peter’s in Hamilton, Ohio. In 1974 she changed careers, entering the nursing field as an LPN. She spent 11 years at Braun’s Nursing Home in Evansville, where she was able to care for her mother who became a resident. Following her mother’s death, Sr. Margaret Mary spent the next 11 years with Beverly Home Health Care in Indianapolis before retiring to the Motherhouse in 2003.Sr. Margaret Mary is survived by sisters Catherine Bennett of Evansville, Indiana, Dorothy Blades of Dixon, Kentucky; brothers Charles Hollingsworth, Paul Hollingsworth, both of Evansville, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.Visitation is Monday, July 19th, from 1-3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with burial in the convent cemetery.
