Sr. Rita Musselman, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Rita Musselman O.S.F., formerly Sr. Robert Ann, age 82 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Friday, August 2, 2013 at the convent. Born August 29, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio, she is the daughter of Ann (Nee: Walker) and Robert Musselman.She entered the convent September 8, 1948 and made her final vows August 12, 1954. Sr. Rita began her working career as an elementary teacher for six years before spending the next forty four teaching high school Social Studies at St. Francis Seraph in Cincinnati, Ohio, Scecina High School in Indianapolis, Indiana and Carroll High School in Dayton, Ohio. She also spent fifteen years as receptionist and secretary for the St. Mary Development Corporation in Dayton. In 2010 Sr. Rita retired to the motherhouse.She is survived by sisters Marjorie Amend of Union, Ohio, Bonnie Walling of Arlington, Virginia, sister-in-law Mary Ann Musselman and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Musselman and brother Robert Musselman.Visitation is Tuesday, August 6th, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Humbert Moster O.F.M. officiating and burial in the convent cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
