Sr. Callista Rosenberger's Obituary
Sr. Callista Rosenberger O.S.F., age 101 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at the convent. Born May 29, 1907 in Cedar Grove, Indiana, she is the daughter of Elizabeth (Nee: Ratz) and Frank Rosenberger.She entered the convent December 7, 1925 and made her final vows July 2, 1931. Sr. Callista taught at St. Nicholas in Sunman, St. Wendel’s in Evansville, St. Martin’s in Yorkville, St. Vincent’s in Shelbyville as well as St. Aloysius in Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Peter’s in Richmond, Ohio, St. Catherine of Alexandria in St. Louis, Missouri, St. Mary’s in Bridgetown, Missouri and St. Patrick’s in Minonk, Illinois. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1990.She is survived by her sister Sr. Mary Helen Rosenberger O.S.F. and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Mary Schrank and brothers Albert, Howard, Sylvester, Joseph and Frank Rosenberger.Visitation is Wednesday, November 19th, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver O.F.M. officiating. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Memorials may be made to Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
