Sr. Catherine Rudolph O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Catherine Rudolph, age 93 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the convent. Born August 3, 1918 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she is the daughter of Emma (Nee: Hoelker) and John Rudolph. She entered the convent September 15, 1940 and made her final vows August 12, 1946. A teacher, she taught at St. Anthony’s in Dayton, Ohio, Holy Trinity and St. Michael’s in Indianapolis, Indiana, St. Michael’s in Brookville, Indiana, St. Paul’s in New Alsace, Indiana and St. Nicholas in Sunman, Indiana. From 1966 until 1990 she served as an Associate Professor at Marian University in Indianapolis and the University of Dayton in Dayton where she was also the Director of Curriculum. She was in charge of student teachers at both universities. In 1990 she returned the Motherhouse to serve as Librarian until 1996 when she retired. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Marion Rudolph, Ethel Morand, Dorothy McGuerty and brothers Carroll and Ernest Rudolph. Visitation is Monday, August 15th, from 1-3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with burial in the convent cemetery.
