Sr. Jonette Scheidler, O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Jonette Scheidler, age 97 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the convent. Born December 16, 1916 in Millhousen, Indiana, she is the daughter of Clara (Nee: Herbert) and Paul Scheidler.She entered the convent September 8, 1946 and made her final vows August 12, 1952. Sr. Jonette was an elementary teacher for 57 years, having mostly taught 5th and 6th grades during that time. Schools she taught at were Little Flower, St. Christopher, Holy Trinity and St. Mark Schools in Indianapolis, Indiana; St. Mary School in North Vernon, Indiana; St. Mary School in Greensburg, Indiana; St. Louis School in Batesville, Indiana; St. Andrew School in Richmond, Indiana; St. Joseph School in Shelbyville, Indiana; St. Joseph School in St. Leon, Indiana; St. Mary School in Rushville, Indiana; Sacred Heart School in Fairfield, Ohio; St. Catherine School in St. Louis, Missouri. Recently, she served as a minister of Prayer and Praise at the Motherhouse in Oldenburg.She is survived by her sister Sr. Janice Scheidler, O.S.F. of Oldenburg, Indiana and her brother Anthony Scheidler of Greensburg, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers Norbert, Paul, Maurice and Urban Scheidler.Visitation is Monday, March 10th, from 1-3 p.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. John Meyer officiating. The burial will be in the Motherhouse cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
