Sr. Cecilia Schroeder O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Cecilia Schroeder O.S.F., formerly Sr. Justine Schroeder, died Saturday, August 25, 2007, at the Srs. of St. Francis Convent. Born November 9, 1938 in Greensburg, Indiana, she is the daughter of Charlotta (Nee: Stier) and Gregory Schroeder. She entered the convent September 8, 1958 and professed her final vows August 12, 1964.Sr. Cecilia taught at several schools in Indiana and Ohio until 1990. Since then, she has taken over several duties at the Motherhouse including Core Member of House of Resurrection, funeral home ministry, assistant grounds keeper at the Motherhouse and secretary for the office of Personnel Services/Life Development. Survivors include her sisters Margaret (Leonard) Mauer, Catherine (Louis) Mauer and Teresa (James) Horan, all of Greensburg; brothers David of Indianapolis, Indiana, Justin of Rushville, Indiana and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her sister Sr. Rose Mary Schroeder O.S.F. and brothers Paul, Charles, Carl, Louis and James.Visitation is Tuesday, August 28th, from 3-7 p.m. at the Motherhouse in Oldenburg, with funeral services following at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
