Sr. Charlyne Wolff O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Charlyne Wolff, age 86 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, died Monday, February 7, 2011 at the convent. Born February 14, 1924 in Dayton, Ohio, she is the daughter of Clara (Nee: Zwiesler) and Alfred Wolff. She entered the convent September 8, 1939 and made her final vows August 11, 1945. Sr. Charlyne taught at St. Leo’s and St. Vincent de Paul in Cincinnati, Ohio; Our Lady of Perpetual Help in New Albany, Indiana, Scecina High in Indianapolis, Indiana and the convent Aspirancy in Oldenburg. From 1966 to 1970 she served as Postulant Mistress for the convent. Following her term, she spent the next 26 years in Papua New Guinea as a missionary, ministering at Tari High School, Holy Trinity College, Xavier Institute and Nazareth House of Prayer. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1996. She is survived by her sister Mary Joan Corrigan of Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Robert Wolff. Visitation is Thursday, February 10th, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Carl Hawver O.F.M. officiating and burial in the convent cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
