Sr. Dolores Wright O.S.F.'s Obituary
Sr. Dolores Wright, age 81 of the Srs. of St. Francis in Oldenburg, Indiana, died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the convent. Born January 1, 1931 in Reading, Ohio, she is the daughter of Catherine (Nee: Creeden) and Charles (Bill) Wright. She entered the convent August 5, 1948 and made her final vows August 12, 1954. She taught at St. Anthony’s in Dayton, Ohio, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Joseph’s in Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Ann’s in Hamilton, Ohio; St. Monica’s in Kansas City, Missouri; St. Mary’s in North Vernon, Indiana, St. Anthony’s in Morris, Indiana, St. Andrew’s in Richmond, Indiana, St. Mary’s in Aurora, Indiana. She would go on to earn her Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola College in Maryland and went to St. Gabriel’s in Connersville, Indiana, to serve as principal. Sr. Dolores also served as Coordinator of Community Life Facilitators for the convent. Before retiring to the motherhouse in 1998, she spent eight years as a Pastoral Associate for the Native American people at Tohatchi, New Mexico. Sr. Dolores is survived by her sister Mary Ann Wright of West Chester, Ohio as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother Charles Wright. Visitation is Tuesday, August 7th, from 1-3 p.m. at the motherhouse chapel in Oldenburg. Funeral services follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Paul Landwerlan officiating. Burial will be in the convent cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Srs. of St. Francis, P.O.
