Stephen J. Kaiser's Obituary
Stephen J. Kaiser, age 52 of Cincinnati and formerly of Batesville, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati. Born October 18, 1957 in Indianapolis, he is the son of Geraldine (Nee: Wernke) and Victor Kaiser. He served in the army from 1977-1981. After the service he worked as a fast food manager and then as sales manager of a car dealership. Steve was an avid sports fan. Although he watched all sports, he preferred football, basketball and baseball. His favorite team was the Bengal’s and he followed the Reds as well. His job as sales manager allowed him to combine the two things he truly loved: cars and negotiating. As much as he liked cars, he truly loved the “art of the deal.” Steve also had a life long passion for reading. Every since he was little, with the exception of sports, he preferred reading over television and especially enjoyed books on history. He would occasionally watch quiz shows on TV and his family felt with all those years reading, he would have made a great contestant. His family also recalled his enjoyment of Poor Boy sandwiches from the Pizza Haus and his dad’s pork chops. He is survived by his daughter Shannon Kopcha of Mason, Ohio; father and step-mother Victor and Juanita (Dee Dee) Kaiser of Batesville; sister Lisa Kaiser of Phoenix, Arizona; step sisters Lynn Stires of Landon, Ohio, Michelle Holmes of Milford, Ohio and special friends Pam Kaiser and family of Toledo, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his mother and his brother Jon Kaiser. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday, April 6th, from 10-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A memorial mass follows at noon at St. Louis Church with Rev. Stephen Akange officiating with military honors on the plaza afterward conducted by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271. A private burial will be held. The family requests memorials to the Joseph House, 1526 Republic Street, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45202.
