Terry G. Wilds' Obituary
Terry G. Wilds, age 66 of Greensburg, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his home. Born April 11, 1949 in Columbus, Indiana, he is the son of Nellie (Nee: Smith) and Paul Wilds. He married Barbara Wietlisbach August 7, 1982 at St. John's Church in Enochsburg. He retired in 2011 from the Franklin County Farm Service Agency after 30 years as the Executive Director.
Terry was a people person who never met a stranger. He routinely went the to the YMCA..........mainly to talk to his friends. He was involved in 4-H pretty much his entire life and was a 4-H leader over 40 years. Terry loved playing any game and loved winning even more. A graduate of Purdue University in 1971, he was a member of the Farmhouse Fraternity. An avid gardener, he and his son-in-law, took great pleasure in canning their excess for winter enjoyment. A good cook, he could also use the produce to create delicious dishes. After retiring he worked at JAWACDAH Farm.
He is survived his wife Barb; daughter and son-in-law Annie and Micah Hostkoetter of New Point; sons and daughter-in-law Daniel and Nicole Wilds of Frankfort, Indiana, Michael Wilds of Greensburg; brother Stephen Wilds of Bemidji, Minnesota and granddaughters Kendall and Leighton Hostkoetter. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is Sunday, April 19th, from 1 - 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, April 20th at St. John's Church in Enochsburg with Rev. Bill Ehalt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Decatur County 4-H Club.
