Tom was a great person. I very much enjoyed serving with him on the board. He was very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. He was admired for his depth, experience, and positive personality. He will be missed. Warm thoughts and prayers for comfort to his loving family.

Tom has been a lifelong friend of our family and will be greatly missed. I have always admired his impact on the funeral profession, family, and friends. Sending you all lots of love. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Tom was head of Pierce Brothers' Mortuaries when I first met him. I am so, so very sorry that he's left us all, but am so grateful to have known him and worked with him. He was very down-to-earth and approachable, which made him a well thought of and liked leader. He was incredibly proud of his family, for very good reasons. Peace, my friend.
We have loss a great friend and all around good guy who had a major impact
through his contributions to community and his profession. My sympathy and prayers are with Cindy, Jake, Brian, Kate and the rest of the Johnson family. I will always remember the good times we had on the golf course and our fishing excursion to Mexico. Of course, Tom caught the biggest fish. Rest in Peace Tom, I will miss you! Ted Cripe
To the Johnson family... You know only too well that there are no magic words to take the hurt and pain away. Only know that we share your loss. I was fortunate enough to manage 3 of the Pierce Brothers locations for Tom. He pirated me from the Pierce family in 1982. I had the pleasure of working for him for 7 years. He was a true professional and made us all proud to be in Funeral Service. For me, next month, it will be the start of 58 years. I give thanks for Tom and the example that he set. Dear Mrs. Johnson, Jake, Brian and Kate. I'm truly sorry to hear about Tom's declining health and passing. I first met Tom at Ron Hast's event in San Francisco in 2007. From there connected with all three children. Tom was a true professional and assisted in making Funeral Service a Profession! Rob Heppell
I have read and reread Tom's obituary. I cannot believe we have lost this giant of vision in our industry. Every time we had a Think Tank, Tom would come and speak. He was persuasive, he was inventive, he had solutions. Mostly he was tireless in his coaching of the funeral directors he liked and cared about. I felt very lucky and unworthy of his praise and all the time he gave to me. I am sorry I am unable to be at his service. But I will always, and very gratefully, remember Tom Johnson. "Thank you, Tom, and Rest in Peace." Your life mattered. You gave more than you ever took. So many of us are in your debt.
