Vivian F. Little's Obituary
Vivian F. Little, age 96 of Oldenburg, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at her home. Born September 23, 1915 in Perry Co. Indiana, she is the daughter of Alma (Nee: Snyder) and Jule Etienne. She married Robert Little April 21, 1936 at Sacred Heart Church in Magnet, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1979. She worked in Housekeeping at the Srs. of St. Francis Convent 23 years before retiring and was a member of Holy Family Church.Vivian was a devout women and attended daily mass until her health prevented it. She loved company and being around family and friends. A lifelong fan of game shows, her family teased about not bothering her during adoration hour – which was Jeopardy followed by Wheel of Fortune. Mom was an excellent baker and the kids remember her homemade yeast rolls topped off with homemade butter and jam. Vivian also liked working crossword puzzles, embroidering, reading mysteries and bird watching, especially her beloved cardinals.She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Carol & Wes Crays of Loogootee, Indiana, Kay Blackwood of Madison, Indiana, Betty & C.G. Gabbard of Greensburg, Monica & Dave Steidinger of Barrington, Illinois, Denise Daro of Torrance, California, Linda & Jim Wenning of Madison, Indiana, Julia Little of Oldenburg; sons and daughter-in-laws Joe & Judy Little of Batesville, Dan & Christine Little of Batesville, Paul Little of Jasper, Indiana, Jim & Sandy Little of Bloomington, Indiana; sister Catherine Etienne of Batesville; 19 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by daughters Mary Little, Addie Enneking; son Basil Little; brothers Joe, Russell and Earl Etienne; four grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Visitation is Friday, March 16th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 1:30 p.m., Saturday, March 17th, at the Sisters of St. Francis Motherhouse Chapel in Oldenburg and 11 a.m. Monday, March 19th, at St. Augustine Church in Leopold, Indiana with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorials to New Horizons or Juvenile Diabetes.
