Waldo I. Dwenger Jr.'s Obituary
Waldo I. Dwenger Jr., age 69 of Hamburg, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at his residence. Born September 17, 1940 in Franklin County Indiana, he married Nola Davidson February 11, 1961 in Oneida, Kentucky. He worked at Batesville Casket Company for 40 years before retiring in 2006 and was a member of Church on the Rock Assembly of God Church in Batesville. Waldo was a quiet individual who enjoyed spending time outdoors. Having a large acreage, he was content to spend hours out on his tractor. His greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren and he liked to share his love of the outdoors with them, often taking them down to the creek to skip stones on the water. Waldo was a talented wood worker who has made many pieces for Nola and as well as swings for the grandchildren. He also enjoyed a good meal and was especially fond of fish. Cod was a favorite of his and he especially liked Nola’s fried dried apple pies.He is survived by his wife Nola; sons Jeff of Flomaton, Alabama, Greg of Oneida, Kentucky; sisters Emma Kroner of Sunman, Indiana, Hazel Dwenger of West Port, Indiana; brothers Paris of Delaware, Indiana, Joe of Lawrenceburg, Indiana; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Johnny.Visitation is Monday, November 30th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Roger Dean officiating and burial will be in the Batesville United Methodist Cemetery. The family requests memorials to the Hansen Center or Abundant Life Assembly of God Church.
