William R. Barnhorst's Obituary
William R. Barnhorst, age 89 of Batesville, Indiana, died Monday, June 26, 2006 at his residence. Born October 2, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, he is the son of Rosalia (Nee: Meyer) and William M. Barnhorst. He married Cleona Holtel on April 13, 1940 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg, Indiana and she preceded him in death on November 5, 1994.Bill served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. During his working years, he was an accountant at Hillenbrand Industries for 40 years, before retiring in 1977. He is survived by his daughter Janet Meyer of Batesville, Indiana; sons William H. Barnhorst of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Robert Barnhorst of Bristol, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Cleona.Visitation is Thursday, June 29th, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29th at St. Louis Church in Batesville, with Rev. Bernard Varghese officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Phi Beta Psi Sorority Cancer Research.
