William J. "Bill" Peters' Obituary
William J. Peters, age 67 of Batesville, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born July 23, 1945 in Batesville, he is the son of Irene (Nee: Bruns) and Charley Peters. He married Tammy Walsman October 30, 1980 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bill was a parts manager for General Motors 22 years before retiring.Bill loved to work on engines and was a longtime mechanic for the Shotgun and Hard Times Racing teams. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid I.U., Cincinnati Reds, and Kentucky basketball fan. Other programs he watched included “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Married With Children.” His family talked about his fondness for fried chicken, gizzards and “That he could live on sliced tomatoes he liked them that much.” His real passion, though, was spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities.He is survived by his wife Tammy; sons Shawn of Batesville, Cory of Sunman; sister Sharon Cozart of Batesville; brothers Tyrone of Maineville, Ohio, Gerald of Lebanon, Ohio and four grandchildren with number five due soon. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Gregory (Pee Wee). Visitation is Wednesday, August 29th, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30th, at Holy Family Church. Bill will be cremated following services. Memorials may be made to the family to assist with medical expenses.
