William R. Moody's Obituary
William R. Moody, age 81 of Batesville, died Saturday, April 29th, 2006, at Margaret Mary Hospital. Born March 1, 1925, in Batesville, he is the son of Edna (Nee: Winegard) and Clarence Moody. He Married Ethel “Myrt” Mondary January 24, 1946 in Newport, Kentucky.Bill served in the Navy during World War II. After the service, he worked at Hillenbrand Industries as a tow motor operator, retiring in 1996 after 39 years. He was a member of St. Louis Church. Survivors include his wife Myrt; daughters Deb Harrington of Batesville, Donna Ruggles and husband Walt of Milan, Chris Vogelsang of Batesville; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his sister Helen Dragoo and brothers Alvin “Babe” Moody and Albert “Bud” Moody.Visitation is Tuesday, May 2nd, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the J. Michael Hansen Cancer Center or to Batesville E.M.S. 10.
